Awarding of Mr. Theodoros Vasilakis in the 4th ALBA Business Unusual Award Ceremony

The Chairman of our Group of companies, Mr. Thedoros Vasilakis, was honored on Tuesday, March 21st, from ALBA Graduate School with the “Business Unsusual Award”, as one of the most successful businessmen of all time. The ceremony took place in Grande Bretagne Hotel in the center of Athens and it was attended by 290 prominent figures of the business community, such as business executives, politicians and academics.

This year, ALBA chose to award Mr. Vasilakis as he constitutes the perfect example of a self-made businessman, a person armed with persistence, power, passion, moral values and a strong vision, who worked really hard and managed to excel in the business world both in Greece and abroad. He is the one behind the success of the Greek airline companies Aegean Airlines and Olympic Air, the car rental company Autohellas -Hertz, which operates in Greece and in 7 more countries (Cyprus, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Ukraine and Croatia), as well as the car retail company Autotechnica-Velmar. Furthermore, over the last few years, he is working on the promotion of Golf tourism in Greece, building an international standards Golf Course in Chersonissos, Crete, named “Crete Golf Club”, and establishing “Aegean Pro – Am”, the 1st International Golf Tournament in Greece.
ALBA’s Chairman of the Board, Mr. Nick Embeoglou, in his speech, highlighted the basic element of Mr. Vasilakis’s Success, which as he said is “his passion and love for Greece, its beauty and its treasures.” Mr. Theodoros Vasilakis, during his speech mentioned that “In a few words, our success was based on the following: Vision, Hard Work, Lifelong Learning, Dedication to Quality, Innovation and Faith towards the human, the Greek and his skills. Nowadays, we are still operating in a difficult economic environment. The biggest challenge of all is to keep the balance between the evolution and the growth of our provided services and the preservation of our financial strength, so that we will be able to face our international competition. At the same time, we present in all the ways the bright side of Greece and what makes us proud to be Greek.” Finally, he dedicated the award to all the employees of every company of his Group.
